Week 45: Ciudad Real, La Mancha District

12:59 PM

Monday- nothing exciting with p- day. That evening we ate with our friend from English class and his wife in Migueltura. They invited is over and it was way nice of them and we had some good Manchego food.

Tuesday- that morning my companion wasn't feeling well so we stayed in. That evening we didn't have too much happen, we helped a member with something (I honestly can't remember) and tried meeting with some people we had contacted the last week but people were busy.

Wednesday- district meeting was in the morning and we learned lots of great stuff and afterwards we ate some Kebab together. That evening we met with flor to talk about her baptism. She's still way excited so we just have to get it all prepared! Then we taught English class and then had a meeting with our branch president.

Thursday- weekly planning for the morning. Then that evening we had our district leader come from Valdapeñas to do the baptismal interview for Flor and it all went great! After we taught her a little bit. That evening we went to the hospital to figure out some medical issues with my companion and it all went well.

Friday- that morning we went to build the baptismal font in the branch (it's a giant plastic pool) well that went well until we later returned to find that their was a fairly good sized rip in the pool and water had leaked everywhere (this is the second time I've had water leek everywhere in setting up the font for a baptism in ciudad real). We figured it all out eventually with our branch president. We tried a few things first to repair it but in the end, duct tape was the fixer. It was a crazy night, but it ended all well

Saturday- we spent the morning doing the baptism program and setting everything up for the baptism. Later we had the baptism! It was an amazing service and my companion got the chance to baptize her! There's nothing better as a trainer to see your trainee within the first 6 weeks of his mission in the waters of baptism. Flor is so awesome and is so excited to be a member of the church and to have made this covenant with God. I know she'll be a great help to this branch in ciudad real and that God is going to bless her life immensely.

Sunday- church went great. We got to do the confirmation of Flor as well as the baby blessing for our branch president's baby. We had a great fast meeting and I think every single active member was there so that was awesome. After that, we went to try and find the Bolivian less active teenager and we were able to talk with his parents. They've always been a great support for the missionaries, they are content with their beliefs, but they've always wanted their son to be strong in the church because they know it teaches great values. So I don't know, I just hope we can meet with him soon.

I'm so grateful to be here as a missionary in Spain and in ciudad real. I continue learning amazing lessons every single day and how just work, faith, and patience truly pay off in the end. Life really is better when we try and follow Jesus Christ. Sometimes people don't feel that way, but really, life obeying the commandments is a better life.
