Elder Hirst week 78

8:54 AM

Monday- It was a pretty brutal day, taking a 9 hour bus ride from Alicante to Malaga for mission council.  I also had a pretty bad cold, but I was able to get through it. It was a great council, we talked about the importance of the spirit in missionary work a lot, and it was a very powerful experience.  Plus, i always love seeing many mission friends.

Tuesday- we continued with mission council, and then after we had exchanges with the assistants in Malaga, I was with my good friend Elder Rivero and we had a great exchange. We really focused on talking with tons of people, and teaching as we found.

Wednesday- We finished the exchange and then later we took another brutal 8 hour bus ride from Malaga to Alicante.  While we stopped in Elche, the police did a random drug check of the bus with dogs and stuff, so we arrived back to Alicante pretty late and quite exhausted

Thursday- we had weekly planning in the morning, then we ate lunch with a family and had a famous Alicantino dish which i don't remember the name of because its in Valenciano.  Then we had correlation with our ward mission leader Jean Carlos from Honduras who is way awesome and just finished his mission in Barcelona, and then we met with Jesus who is doing well.

Friday- That morning we taught a less active member Jaime, and he's doing really well. We then taught Jesus again and he continues doing well, but we will have to see about probably slowing down to make sure he understands things well.  Then we had district meeting and it went well.  Then we met with a recent convert here named Blanca and she's also doing great just with some medical issues.  Then to end the day we met a Nigerian less active member named Tom and we were able to talk about the restoration again with him.

Saturday- We just did some finding in the morning, and were able to teach this less actives 10 year old son.  then later jesus (who is a chef) invited us to eat at his house for lunch. He made some famous Cadiz Paella (because he's from La línea, which is a city in the Cadiz province).  He is gypsy, so he makes a good paella. That evening we met with Lourdes, Frank, and Erika which is an Ecuadorian family that we are teaching and they are doing super awesome, only that the parents aren't legally married, but they have plans to do so, so that they can be baptized. But we are working with the daughter. To end the night, we met with the recent convert here Angel. Angel is so awesome, He loves cars and motorcycles and has a nice super bike and stuff, and he's really happy in the gospel.

Sunday- Church was good, Unfortunately Jesus didn't come, we're kind of thinking that he's not taking it super seriously, so we're definitely holding back on the baptismal date that was going to be the next Saturday.  The Ecuadorian family came and so did another investigator, and it was just a great Sunday.  For my birthday, a member family invited us to their house out in the fields of Alicante. It was really pretty out there, it's just this log cabin in the middle of nowhere.  We ate there and then went back, and the hermanas here in Alicante made me some cookies for my birthday so it was a pretty good birthday.

Well I'm super grateful for the opportunity to continue working as a missionary.  I can definitely feel the time winding down, but i really want to work hard and do all that i can while i can do it.  I'm excited to continued sharing my testimony with the people here and i know the lord has great things in store for me
