Elder Hirst week 72

3:39 PM

Monday and Tuesday- we had mission council in Fuengirola. It was really awesome, i always enjoy it a lot because i learn a ton, eat great food, and get to see so many missionary friends. It's just always a great time.  We mostly just talked about our mission's goals and plans and changes fro the year.  It was some good stuff.  On the way back, i forgot my ipad and had to run out of the metro from Fuengirola to Malaga to go grab it and we barely made it back to málaga to take our train to sevilla on time. Then we got to Sevilla and i had forgotten by backpack on the train. We all through it was gone (and all the important stuff inside) but luckily we talked to the train people and they were able to get it.  Oh also on the train ride, we talked with these Irish rock climbers and they were cool guys and we had a good conversation about religion

Wednesday- we had district meeting in the morning and it went really well.  The evening we pretty busy with some home teaching assignments to fill, as well as we taught our investigator Andrew and he says he's for sure coming to church on sunday.

Thursday- we had weekly planning in the morning.  Then we met with our good pal Juan Carlos.  Today is 3 kings Eve (three kings is basically like christmas here in Spain, it's the day they give gifts and stuff to each other, and the eve has tons of parades). He was with some other friends from El Salvador who aren't members and they all invited us to go see the big three kings parade down in the center with them.  We taught them a lesson and then went to the parades.  The parades are just enormous and they all throw candy at the people and we got tons of candy, and there were just tons and tons of people. It was a really awesome day.

Friday- it was three kings day and there were more parades! Everywhere we went, there were parades.  We taught that morning the recent convert Gabriela and she's doing well. Then we just talked with people in the streets.  That evening we visited the recent convert Nigerian and we're helping him get his patriarchal blessing all figured out and he's just doing amazingly. I don't really remember the rest of the night being much, we mostly just passed by people who told us they were busy with the festival.

Saturday- wow, we had an amazing day! That morning we met with this guy we found named Jorge from Honduras like a month ago in the pouring rain.  It was a miracle that we found him and we finally met with him and it was such an amazing first lesson. He has so much potential and so much desire to get closer to god and is willing to do things necessary. He really was someone the lord has prepared.  It may be difficult to meet with him frequently though.  Then that evening we invited morrison to come with us and we visited all our Nigerian investigators and it went well.  Then that night nothing too interesting happened, people mostly canceled. Oh and i found out my sister is now engaged!!! Sounds like they'll be getting married before i'm home, but that's alright i'll be there and spirit and in cardboard cutout at the wedding. I told her before my mission that if she were to get married during my mission, the condition was that she had to get a cardboard cutout of me.  Congratulations to her and her Fiancé Kyle!

Sunday- Andrew came to church!!! Unfortunately he didn't really like it, so that was sad.  He really doesn't seem to interested so we will probably have to drop him.  But church was great, basically every missionary in Sevilla is sick right now though so that's sad. Anyway it was a good week! We're super happy the festivals are over because it means people will be back in their routine and able to meet with us.  The festivals are always fun, but make the work more difficult.
