Elder Hirst week 88

2:47 PM

Monday- It was a good p day, we went to the pueblo San Vicente where they were celebrating Moros y Cristianos, a famous holiday celebrated in some pueblos of Alicante.  There was a big firecracker show and then we ate their with a member Denis and all the missionaries here in Alicante and it was a fun day.  That evening we had the Ecuadorian Family home evening as always and it was really great.  We really love these families here

Tuesday- That morning was district meeting which was good, then we had exchanges with the elders in Elche, elder wood and elder Smithson. I was with elder Smithson from Florida and that evening we had to go to San Vicente to officially close down that missionary apartment there, because our mission is going to sell it.  Then we helped a member in San Vicente who needed some help cleaning after their old roommate moved out.

Wednesday- We continued our exchange and it went great, we actually just came across a lady who was struggling to load some bags into a building, and it turns out she just moved there and she needed help. We offered our help and were able to bring up a lot of her stuff. She asked if we could come back in two days to help move her furniture from a truck to her house and we said we would. It was a great miracle.  Her name is Maria Teresa, and she is from Leon France but has lived in spain for many years.  She even said she'd be willing to allow us to share our message with her.  That evening we had many meetings, then choir practice, and then we taught Frank Lourdes and Erica who are doing super great

Thursday- we had a multi award activity here in Alicante becaus it was a holiday.  You know, ward parties are so funny in Alicante, they always have to involve ridiculous amounts of Paella.  So the activity was a Paella Activity and tons of people came and we played futbol and other games and there were many members friends there, it was great.  That evening we had exchanges with Elder Craven our district leader and elder Moore. I as with elder Craven and we had a great exchange, we were able to visit with some people in their area and contact some nice people in the street

Friday- we went to help Maria Teresa with moving the furniture into her new house and was very grateful.  We plan on going back another time to share a message with her. She made it quite clear that she's catholic and doesn't want to change, but we always want to at least share our message with everyone.  That evening we did weekly planning and then visited with Angel the recent convert and he continues doing great.

Saturday- We played futbol that morning with the ward and some of their non member friends and that was good. That evening we really focused on trying to get in contact with some people we have met recently, but unfortunately in Spain people are almost never home on Saturday. But we were able to get in contact with a nice Nigerian man who wants us to come back another time. We also got transfers that night which I'll talk about after

Sunday- church was great, we had some investigators there as well as the Stake Patriarch was able to come here and give a nice class to the ward about patriarchal blessings.  That was really great for our recent converts who were able to get a better understanding of that and have desires to get theirs soon.

So for transfers, every companionship here in alicante is changing.  Elder Greenhalgh will be going to Huelva (literally as far away from Alicante you can get) and my new companion is Elder Pincock from Cottonwood Heights, Utah. In other words he lives like 5 minutes from me in Utah. He went to Brighton High-school in fact. But I've known Elder Pincock for a long time in my mission (he's one group below me) and he is one of the funniest guys i know so I'm super excited, he'll be a fantastic companion.
