Elder Hirst week 74-Almost on our 6 month countdown
4:57 PM
Monday- p day wasn't very
exciting, that's all i have to say about it. There were some transfers in
our mission and we had to help with that most day. That evening we met
with the less active and it went well
Tuesday- Then we had interviews
with president. All mission have changed so we have interviews every
transfer but the goal is that they don't go longer than 15 minutes. My
went about 10 cuz i didn't have much to complain about so that's always
good. That evening we had the elders who are in Badajoz come stay with us
because we have a tri zone conference on Wednesday. The elders in Badajoz are
elder Bodily and my boyyyyyyyy trainee elder Esparza!!! It was so good to see
him he's doing awesome. We went and had a contacting competition in our area
and i went with Bodily and Owens with Esparza and the competition was who could
get the most futures (people who give us their numbers or directions) me and
bodily won wooo!!
Then bodily and owens went and
taught a lesson to one of our investigators named Rosa. And wow... it was
a complete miracle. She has completely turned around. Before she wasn't
doing anything or really showing any interest but she had an amazing experience.
She was really sad one day and decided to pray to ask for help and ask god for
help in getting a job. She felt like she needed to go to our church so
that sunday before she just surprised us by coming. The next day, someone
called her with a good work with a great schedule. She says she's now very
committed.
Wednesday- we had our tri zone
conference and it went great learned lots of great stuff. Mostly just
about how really we need to have the attitude that in every community and city
or village in this world, there is someone ready to accept the gospel. I firmly
believe that. That evening we went and taught a suuupper old woman we had
talked to a week before while we were doing service. It was the funniest
lesson every. We brought another older member from our area and it was
just funny, she was very old. She says she doesn't want to change her
beliefs but that she'd be happy to read the Book of Mormon and let us come over
so I guess that's nice.
Thursday- We had weekly planning
and it was fun as always! Then we ate lunch with one of our Italian "friends"
(he's not a religious man at all) but he made us some amazing pasta and i
always appreciate a little Milano cooking. That evening we taught rosa
again and it went so well. We invited her to baptism for February 4th and she
accepted! We are going to really be working hard to get her prepared
Friday- we taught our recent
convert Gabriela, and she's not doing so well...we went and taught Morrison and
he's doing great as well. Morrison is the absolute best. We had an arm
wrestling competition and he won. Then we met a new lady who is the
friend of a member and taught her and she seems kind of interested but she
won't live in our area so that's unfortunate.
Saturday- we had correlation
that morning with our ward mission leader. We too received unfortunate
news that one of the beloved members of sevilla passed away during the
night. The family Baena, they were basically the pioneers of the Sevilla
2 ward. The mother passed away form illness and it was very sad to hear,
but the family was doing so well because they all knew she truly endured to the
end and gave her whole life to this church. Without the baena family, this ward
wouldn't have existed. We went that evening to visit the family and
attend a short service. We then went and helped a less active member of the
ward with some stuff. Then we went and taught rosa and she continues doing so
well, so far so good, and she's still excited for her baptismal date.
Sunday- we had church and Rosa
came!!! She's super awesome and really is showing such commitment to follow
this path. It's so interesting, we started teaching her a while ago and she
just wasn't progressing so we dropped her but she just randomly showed up last
week with interest in learning! We are so excited. Oh by the way, Rosa is from
Santa Cruz Bolivia. I have taught more bovinas in my mission than any
other people. Anyway we taught her after church too and everything
continues going great!
Mission is the best!
