Monday- we went to a beach
pueblo of Alicante called Campello for a ward activity. Frank Lourdes and
Erica all came. There we just played a game of futbol with all the people
there at the activity and it was way fun. We did US versus Spain and we won
again! Haha they play a ton better than us, we just are willing to run a lot
and pass so it's good. That evening we had a great family home evening with
investigators, recent converts, and members and it was great. The food that is
always made is very good, all Ecuadorian
Tuesday- we had a district
meeting in the morning, then we got calls from our superiors telling us that
one of the apartments in our zone (in a pueblo called San Vicente) is going to
be sold the next week and that we needed to go clean it. Well we too had
exchanges and i was with Elder Erickson from Utah and we had to just go to San
Vicente and clean for like 5 hours. It was really bad. Oh well,
sometimes things just happen like that.
Wednesday- we had apartment
Inspections that morning, and the couple missionary the Croshaws from La Mancha
came to do it which was so awesome! I love the Croshaws, i was with them for 7
months there in La Mancha so i was way excited to see them. Anyway, we passed
the inspection so thats good. That evening we had many ward meetings as usual
and that went great. Then we went and taught Angel the recent convert and
he's done awesome, since his baptism hes only missed church like once.
Thursday- we had exchanges with
the APs in malaga so we had to take an 8 hour bus ride down there. I was with
Elder Burton from Holaday Utah in the exchange, my good friend even since
before the mission. It was a great exchange and we met some awesome
people and were able to teach their top investigator right now who his hoping
to be baptized in a couple weeks.
Friday- we resumed the exchange
and then took another 8 hour bus ride back to Alicante. I've gotten very
good at traveling patiently without anything to do. The key is to make
conversation. Anyway, it was a good trip down to malaga.
Saturday- we just went out that
morning with the purpose to find some new investigators, and we did! We were
able to talk with some great people in the streets as well as enter into the
home of a Nigerian family. I love Nigerians they are the nicest people.
That went well and we plan on going back to teach them next week. Then we
were at the church preparing for the baptism of the daughter named Camila of a
family we've been working with. The baptism went really well and Camila was so
happy to be baptized. This ward sure helped out a lot too, i really love this
ward a lot. That night we did weekly planning.
Sunday- Church was great, all 4
of our recent converts were there, and a couple of investigators and some less
actives we are working with so it was a miraculous Sunday! The chapel was
filled! We also performed a musical number as missionaries that we threw
together the day before and it didn't turn out too bad. Then we helped some
members with their home teaching that evening, and then we went with some
investigators to a family history activity at the church. I'll tell you,
we from the US should be grateful for the family history work we have, it's a
lot more complicated here in spain and throughout South America. But we
learned a lot especially how family history work is done here in Spain.
This week was a great one, and
sure flew by fast. I really love the mission and how much it has helped me draw
near my savior. It's the greatest thing I've gained on my mission. Thanks to
everyone who keeps reading these things, you're endurance through my perhaps
mundane weekly report means a lot. Hope everyone has a great
week!!!
