Elder Hirst week 83
9:45 AM
Monday- for our last p day of
the transfer we had some missionaries from all over the zone come down to Alicante and we all went together to the castle here in Alicante. It was
pretty cool. Then that evening was the evening of miracles. We were
able to get with a family whose son was baptized a while ago but went inactive,
and it was great. They had become a little disillusioned with the church
because of the bad behavior of some missionaries (shows the importance of
obedience as a missionary) and stopped really continuing with the church, but
they said they'd love to give it another shot. Then we went and taught
Frank, Lourdes, and Erica. They are doing well, and the biggest miracles
happened after. We asked Erica if she had been thinking more about baptism and
she said that she had and that she feels in three weeks she would like to be
baptized. After being taught for almost 6 months now, she's finally made
the decision to be baptized so that is awesome!! Her date is for the 15th of
April. Frank and Lourdes are still working towards marriage, but that's a
complicated process here in Spain.
Tuesday- We kind of had like a
goodbye meeting for all the missionaries here in Alicante who are going home
and that was good. That evening we went to English classes that the other
missionaries here give because we had a lady we had contacted in the street say
she was going to go, and she did. We also invited her to the family home
evening right after and she came and it was great. The only issue is that
she works all weekends but we'll see.
Wednesday- we had to go drop of
some missionaries down at the bus station to go to their areas, then we went
back and had some planning stuff to do. That evening we had lots of ward
meetings as usual, which i truly do enjoy, it helps coordinate things a lot
better, and then we went back down to the bus station to help some more
missionaries with transfers
Thursday- we had weekly planning
in the morning, then we were able to go back with that family i had mentioned
on Monday, and meet especially with the less active son. We had the best member
with us, Toni, come with us and they are great friends. It was an amazing
lesson, and the less active guy said he would really think about coming back to
church and stuff. We really hope he does. Then that evening we met
with another person who will be getting baptized this trainer. It is the
daughter of a less active family, named Camila. They are from Columbia
and she is 10 years old. She really knows the gospel very well and is very
excited to be baptized.
Friday- That morning we had a
zone meeting here in Alicante where we were able to see the new Easter video
for the church initiative that they do every year during Christmas and
Easter. The video this year is absolutely amazing, and the initiative
with the video will be starting the 31st of this month, so be sure and visit mormon.org that date and invite your friends to
check it out as well. Share the video with all you know, it is a powerful
testimony of Christ! That evening we met with Angel, the recent convert
here. He continues doing very well and hasn't missed church once and is
very happy in his life right now despite issues he is having. Then we
visited Frank Lourdes and Erica again and they are so excited for Erica's
baptism as well as the young woman's "New Beginnings" stake activity
They will be attending in Elche the following day.
Saturday- We played futbol that
morning and some less active YSA members from our area as well as Frank
came. We decided to do the Americans (the missionaries) verses all and we
didn't do half bad. We play like absolute garbage, but we've got that
good American fighting spirit in us and we held our own. That evening we got
really lost and ended up in the Boonies of our area and there was like nobody
in the streets.
Sunday- church was good, except
Lourdes and Erica got sick in Elche and the stake activity so that's not good,
but they are good they were sad they couldn't come to church. Unfortunately
a lot of people we wanted to come didn't come, but hey it happens. We
were able that evening to visit an investigator we recently started teaching
that we found contacting in the street. Her name is Virginia and she is from
Bolivia and the lesson went really well with her.
Well i have officially 4 months
left today. Crazy to think how fast time has really passed. I know you always
hear it from everyone, but it's more than true, time has just flown by.
