Elder Hirst week 76
12:32 PM
Monday- p day was fun, we went
to Costco and got some food, and we chilled in the center of Seville. Sevilla
is such a lively amazing city, i love it. That evening, i don't really
remember what happen, but i'm sure it was good!
Tuesday- we had district meeting
in the morning, and then we had exchanges with the elders from Cordoba, elder
Hernandez from Mayorca, and elder Karn from Sweden. I got to be with elder karn
and it was so awesome i really enjoyed my exchange with him, elder Karn is such
a good missionary and an awesome guy, and we saw some great miracles. One
of which was meeting with Rosa and being able to do the baptismal interview
with her. Her baptism date is now set for the 11th of February and she
passed the interview and is excited to get baptized. It's awesome to have seen
such spiritual progress with Rosa.
Wednesday- that morning, we
continued our exchange and me and elder Karn visited a less active in our
area. It was a great lesson and he really enjoyed the lesson. Hes still
not really coming back, but his family has started to do better. His
daughter is fully active and his son and mom are also coming sometimes to
church. It's been good to see some progress with this family, they are
great people. We ended the exchange and got to eat really good Spanish lunch
with the Vilches family here in Sevilla. They are a very very great
family, I loved spending lunchtime with them. That evening, we just
passed by some people and also were able to do a missionary activity with one of
the couples in our area, and they gave us some new references to go by. Go
Antonio and Cecilia!
Thursday- we did weekly planning
and then made lunch, and i believe the lunch we made didn't sit well with me,
something to do with the meet we cooked with i believe. I fell very ill
and began vomiting many times between 4:00 and 7:30 so i definitely got some
good food poisoning. Wouldn't be a mission without a bit of that! Unfortunately
i had to stay in that night but i was feeling better by the next day, my body
just used 20 hours to clean my system out.
Friday- in the morning we
visited one of our area's recent converts. Unfortunately she's been going
through some issues right now, and kind of wants a break from the church for a
while, but everything was left on good terms, we were just very sad. That
evening we were able to have a very successful activity at the church! Our
investigator Jorge has reappeared again and we were able to meet with him and
go to the activity with him! He's going through some difficult circumstances
but still has intentions of knowing this gospel. Had some other less actives
come to the activity and they really enjoyed it.
Saturday- we had mission
correlation in the morning with our ward mission leader Antonio. Hes such an
awesome guy. later we got to meet with the miracle we met last Sunday
Maritza! She is from Nicaragua and has a son who is a member in Nicaragua and
is preparing to leave on a mission soon! He has told his mother she needs to
meet the elders and go to church and be baptized, and has already basically
taught his mom all the lessons. We met with Maritza and her family here
sister and nephew and niece here in Spain and had an amazing first lesson with
them. Maritza basically already knows everything about the church and wants to
be baptized. We invited the family to prepare to be baptized and she shot
her hand in the air and said "I want to!!!" Such a miracle!
Sunday- church was really great,
unfortunately a lot of people we were expecting to come weren't able to so that
was disappointing, but a lot of other people did including a progressing less
active in the ward. Also i kind of started saying goodbye to people
because I'm pretty sure I'm leaving soon next Wednesday to a new area, although
i don't know for sure, transfer calls are on Monday now. We had lunch
that evening with a Peruvian family who pertains to both Sevilla wards and it
was a lot of fun.
Well i found out my transfers.
In the usual manner, i will use the bible to announce my change
Acts 23:11- "And the night
following the Lord...said, Be of good cheer, {Elder Hirst}: for as thou hast
testified of me in {Cadiz, Ciudad Real, and Sevilla}, so must thou bear witness
also at {Alicante}" I will be serving with Elder Greenhalgh who is not
only in my group, but also was in my MTC district with me in the Madrid MTC!!!
Man am i absolutely psyched to go there. I've heard amazing things about
Alicante (which is a large city just south of Valencia) and also i'll be going
to my first area in the east side of the mission, and with a dialect which is
Valenciano. Also, Elder Greenhalgh is one of my best friends in this mission,
so i'm very much looking forward to it. I'll miss Sevilla and Elder Owens and
the rest of the missionaries and people here a ton, but as i've found in the
mission, there's amazing people and experiences everywhere, doesn't matter
where you go to
